I was listening to someone talk about the rise (and fall) of the first empire, Akkadia, in around 2350 BC. It made me think about the ancient transition from an Agrarian society to the more imperialistic one. As I continued to work on the song and Trump was running for office, it became linked to the "empire" of today...there's a feeling sometimes of being the little guy (the peasant) with no power and those sitting in the house of fire (so to speak) have no regard for how their actions and decisions affect the people.
